Meet Our Therapist

Jennifer Holloway, LMFT

*Owner/Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist*

Jennifer Holloway, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving individuals, couples, and families in Surprise, Arizona and the surrounding West Valley communities. She earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Florida and brings over 10 years of professional experience across inpatient, residential, and outpatient behavioral health settings. Jennifer works with clients of all ages and backgrounds, offering individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy.

Jennifer has a lifelong passion for working with animals and deeply values the healing, joy, and connection they bring to people. She is currently developing an animal sanctuary and therapeutic farm in Surprise, Arizona, designed as a safe haven for rescued animals and a restorative space where clients can benefit from nature-based and animal-assisted healing experiences. Her vision is to create a nurturing environment that supports both animal welfare and emotional well-being through hands-on care, education, and therapeutic involvement.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in authentic connection—both with others and within ourselves. Jennifer believes that meaningful healing happens through genuine, supportive relationships, and she strives to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and respected. Known for her open, direct, and kind communication style, she brings honesty and congruence into every session.

Jennifer uses an integrative, evidence-based approach that incorporates EMDR, DBT, IFS, the Gottman Method, Structural Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Family Systems, EFT, and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. She specializes in supporting clients through family or marital conflict, trauma-related concerns, mood and personality disorders, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorders, and acute stress.

Understanding that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, Jennifer offers gentle guidance to help clients express their needs, explore their experiences, and move toward healing. Her goal is to help each person feel empowered, heard, and more deeply connected—to themselves, their relationships, and their overall well-being.

Danielle Spies, LPC

Danielle Spies, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor serving children, teens, young adults, and adults in Surprise, Arizona and surrounding West Valley communities. With over a decade of combined medical and mental health experience, Danielle brings a deep, longstanding commitment to supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments. Her early work in the medical field shaped her passion for helping others, ultimately guiding her into the mental health profession, where she has spent the past five years dedicated to client healing and personal growth.

Danielle has extensive experience working with trauma, mood and personality disorders, substance use, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. She utilizes a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, harm reduction, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This integrative style allows her to tailor care to each client’s unique needs and goals.

Known for her direct, honest, and encouraging approach, Danielle balances challenge with support—helping clients feel validated while empowering them to create meaningful change. She fosters a safe, grounded, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their emotions, gain insight, and strengthen their resilience.

Amber Skinner, LPC

*Licensed Professional Counselor*

Amber Skinner, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing in-person and virtual therapy for adults in Surprise, Arizona and the surrounding West Valley communities, including Peoria, El Mirage, Sun City West, and nearby areas. With over 15 years of experience, Amber offers supportive, client-centered care for individuals navigating challenges related to self-esteem, self-worth, codependency, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

Amber takes an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy, utilizing modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, harm reduction, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This allows her to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and life experiences while supporting meaningful and lasting change. She also brings a strong awareness of how cultural background and lived experience can shape the way individuals process trauma and engage in therapy.

Known for her direct yet supportive style, Amber creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore patterns, gain insight, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges. She works collaboratively with clients to build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with greater clarity and intention.

Amber believes that meaningful change begins within. Her guiding philosophy—“everything starts and ends with you”—reflects her commitment to helping clients move beyond simply managing life to truly experiencing growth, balance, and well-being.

Rachel Hodgson, LAC

*Licensed Associate Counselor*

Rachel is a Licensed Associate Counselor who earned her Master of Education degree from Northern Arizona University. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life’s challenges through a compassionate, creative, and trauma-informed approach to therapy.
 
Rachel believes that healing happens when individuals feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences. Drawing from humanistic and existential perspectives, she creates a supportive therapeutic environment where clients can build self-awareness, discover meaning, and develop confidence in their ability to overcome obstacles. She is a strong advocate for trauma-informed care and recognizes the importance of addressing the underlying causes of emotional distress to promote lasting growth and healing.
 
Rachel has specialized training in EMDR, play therapy, and sand tray therapy, allowing her to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each client. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), experiential interventions, and client-centered techniques to help clients process emotions, develop coping skills, and strengthen resilience.
 
As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), Rachel brings a unique perspective and deep appreciation for communication, connection, and the diverse experiences that shape each person’s story. Her warmth, empathy, and genuine curiosity help clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their goals at their own pace.
 
Rachel is dedicated to helping clients uncover their strengths, navigate difficult life experiences, and move toward a more fulfilling and authentic life. Whether working with children through play-based interventions or supporting adults through trauma recovery and personal growth, she strives to meet each client where they are and support them in reaching their full potential.
